Consider what plaintiff attorney Wayne Schoeneberg has to say about what plaintiff attorneys are like. Attorneys are very busy. They just are. Most attorneys that legal nurse consultants are approaching are going to be busy. Generally when they’ve gotten to the level where they’re handling significant cases, they need help from a legal nurse consultant. They’re going to be busy. Their practice has grown.
Why you should know what plaintiff attorneys are like
You must understand what plaintiff attorneys are like as you market to them. Keep this in mind when you’re communicating as to why they are busy. They take on more than they should. Why do they take on more than they should? It’s because they’re insecure.
Wayne has worked as a mentor and a coach with lawyers for years. He says, “Many lawyers are unhappy being attorneys. They are just unhappy. The reason that they are unhappy being an attorney is because they aren’t making the money they think they should be making.
“They’re working harder than they think they should be working. Those two things go together because they’re always afraid of where their next case is coming from. Because of that, they take too many cases and it causes them a lot of stress.
“They’re worried where the next client is coming from and this is especially true in the personal injury business. You don’t get that much repeat business in the personal injury business, not that many people are injured over-and-over again.
Plaintiff attorneys are different from corporate attorneys
“Corporate lawyers are different. When you get a corporate client you’re expecting a certain income as you go along. You can regulate that a little more. Keep this in mind when you’re trying to communicate with attorneys.
“Remember that you’re there to help them. That’s the message that you have to get across. You need to listen to them to find out what their fears and concerns are. Find out what need you can meet for that particular lawyer.” When you know what plaintiff attorneys are like you will know how to communicate with them and help them.
