I wonder if you can identify with the need for self-improvement. My mother’s grandparents were British and Irish. They taught my mother and her siblings how to survive in America after getting off the ship from Ireland. My mother learned and passed on to her children many helpful lessons about being a survivor.
But she did not learn to admit to failures or to apologize. And consequently, I have had to struggle with these issues as well. We need to take steps for self-improvement. And we have to admit we need help.
None of us enter the field of legal nurse consulting completely ready to take on the challenges.
Self-Improvement Equals Success
When does self-improvement become synonymous with success? Where do we start? I’ve assembled some tips for you.
Has the road to starting and running your LNC business been free of problems? If you answer “yes” you’d be the first one who would give that response.
Have you ever felt discouraged about your business’ progress? Stop thinking and feeling as if you’re a failure, because you’re not. Any LNC business has ebbs and flows.
Think of the world as a large room that gives you lessons. You try something; you see if it works. You try something else. Don’t feel stupid because your business is slow.
When I fretted about the volume of cases coming in during slow times, I learned to realize that there would be unexpected phone calls or cases that “walked in the door”. And I also learned that I needed to market, to connect with people, to improve my business operations and yes, to apologize.
Self-improvement results to inner stability, personality development, and SUCCESS. It comes from self-confidence, self-appreciation, and self-esteem.
Create a Better YOU
Set meaningful and achievable goals. Self-improvement doesn’t turn you into the exact replica of the most successful LNC who ever worked in the field. It aims to result to an improved and better YOU.
Learn new things, try new things, and determine what works for your LNC business.
Remember that there’s no such thing as “overnight success.” I have never met an LNC who did not struggle at one point in his or her business.
When we open our doors for self-improvement, we increase our chances to head to the road of success.
