Medical Record Analysis – What is it?
- How do you decipher the often complex issues associated with medical cases?
- How do you make sense of often indecipherable medical records?
- And how do you tease apart the liability of these cases?
- Have you felt frustrated by the sheer amount of medical details involved in litigation?
Medical Record Analysis Experience
As an experienced legal nurse consultant, I am familiar with these concerns. Medical records are voluminous and filled with abbreviations and technical terms.
The first volume of Medical Records Analysis was published in 2023 to provide unique insights to attorneys about medical records. Our second volume followed in 2024 with all new chapters and insights. The new third volume includes some authors from previous editions and others new to our publication.
Legal nurse consultants work in various capacities, including expert witnesses, behind-the-scenes consultants, life care planners, risk managers, and in-house LNCs. These authors are independent behind-the-scenes consultants and expert witnesses.
Legal nurse consulting has existed for decades, yet many attorneys have not heard of LNCs or believe their paralegals can manage the medical details of their cases. With our specialized training and perspectives, we bring medical insights to help the attorney understand medical records and what occurs in healthcare environments. We know how the healthcare system works, making us invaluable adjuncts for attorneys.
Medical Record Analysis by LNCs
The chapters in the book, all written by legal nurse consultants, contain clear language, are illustrated by case studies, and are designed to make the information memorable and easily understandable.
Five sections focus on cases involving personal injury, medical malpractice, crime, health, and other types of injuries.
I’ve used my experience as an editor of books for attorneys to assemble this group of talented legal nurse consultants.
My first book for attorneys was Nursing Malpractice in 1996, followed by Nursing Home Litigation: Investigation and Case Preparation, Medical Legal Aspects of Medical Records, and Medical Legal Aspects of Pain and Suffering. After selling the company, I’ve written many books for legal nurse consultants and developed a highly successful LNC business coaching practice.
My five years on the board of directors of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants included a year as president.
Most of the authors in this book are part of my coaching programs, and it is a delight to provide them with the structure to share their knowledge with you.
These seasoned legal nurse consultants bring you tips from their clinical experiences.
