Dr. Diane L. Krasner is a board certified wound specialist with experience in wound, ostomy & incontinence care across the continuum of care. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and a Master of the American Professional Wound Care Association. Dr. Krasner is a Wound & Skin Care Consultant in York, Pennsylvania and works part-time at Rest Haven – York as the Clinical Nursing Specialist and Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse.
Pat Iyer MSN RN LNCC has reviewed dozens of pressure ulcer cases as a liability and fact witness. She is best known as the chief editor of Legal Nurse Consulting Principles and Practices, Second Edition. She is Past Present of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC).
Format and Schedule
This course is taught as a multimedia course. You will be engaged in learning with homework breaks in between sessions. Never leave home or your office. All you need is a computer.

SESSION 3
This is an introduction to a pressure ulcer case. The session focuses on the case and alleged negligence. You’ll be able to download the actual medical records of the patient. Learn the relevancy and importance of these documents while performing the review. You will become familiar with medical records specific to these cases such as the pressure ulcer flow sheets and wound care consults. Develop analytical skills of medical records focusing on the alleged negligence.
SESSION 4
Prior to this session, create the expert report you began after Session 3. Learn from Dr. Krasner’s expert analysis of the case and its outcome.
